Fashion Friday, Part 2

coming-soonThe fine folks at Voler are beavering away at our little Old Guys Who Get Fat In Winter jersey project.

The original artwork for versions 1 and 2 has been unearthed, some minor alterations in design are being made, and before you can say, “No, really, honey, this is every bit as important as a donation to Habitat for Humanity, Greenpeace or Doctors Without Borders,” an online store will be up and running.

And shortly thereafter I will be doing my best Scrooge McDuck imitation, rolling around in my private vault piled high with greenbacks.

Well, you’ll have some jerseys, anyway. The vault project may take a little more time to get up and running.

  1. So now I can pick up a new jersey, then drop $300 at Will Frichkorn’s Cured for a Tour cheese and wine box, and I’ll be living the dream.

  2. Hope you got a better royalty deal than Taylor Swift got out of Apple. $0.002 per stream. Independent musicians can look forward to making dozens and dozens of dollars off of each album.

    1. I’ll make a couple of bucks if they sell like beer at a ballgame. But I’m not worried about it. Folks wanted the jersey and I should’ve gotten it done a long time ago.

Anyway, Voler is doing all the actual work. All I had to do was have a silly idea.

  3. Want, but being a girl I’m not sure if the fashion police would let me wear it.

Are you doing any that are smaller than XXL? I’d probably need a Medium.

    1. It’s an order-on-demand deal, so people should be able to order any size they please, Debby. No Old Gals Who Get Fat kit yet, alas. I drew a sister once for VeloNews, but it failed to catch on for some reason.

  4. Must be a good feeling to see the OGWGFW project move from the “time to make the donuts” stage to a sleek and snazzy garment.
I love the the image of Scrooge McDuck. He will look fine in your jersey, too.

    1. Libby, it’s gonna be cool to see people getting their kit, for sure. I’m down to one each myself — one original, one v2.0 — so I’ll probably buy a couple too.

      1. Scalia has gone off his rocker. Or off his meds. Some horse shit about trying to save hippies and liberals from the entanglements of marriage.

There are guys who analyze a subject and let their analysis guide their decision. And there are folks, many of them razor sharp, who decide and then work up analysis to fit. Scalia is definitely the latter. Crazy smart, but then again too smart for his own good

  5. Thanks Patrick! I am bikeless in Illinois. Not a good combination for a confirmed high desert rat. Come on next Wednesday when I can fly my ass out of here.

    1. Tomorrow is my flying day. My Niner MCR is waiting with a fresh set of TRP Spyke disc brakes. I can’t wait to try them out. I need some dirt time, bad!

  6. As an Oregon State Alum I love the use of the word Beavering! Hope I am employed by the time this all comes online so I can stock up!

  7. Hey bromasi,

I had a separate conversation with Voler about bib shorts regarding fit. The tip is that the “Triton” fabric has more stretch, so if you have, ahem, manly bulges in the hips to go with the manly bulges around the waist, models with the Triton fabric are more likely to work.

    1. Mad Dog Media jersey, v1.0

Jon, Bromasi, I’ve not yet discussed shorts with Voler. They’re pretty busy this time of year, and getting the two jerseys queued up and online is all we’re gonna do for starters.

Once we start moving a few of those items, we may add shorts and revive the Mad Dog Media jersey, this time in a stylish yellow and black for extra visibility.

      1. That Mad Dog Media jersey would make a fine addition to the two styles I have (shown in your pic above) I have in my kit drawer.

  8. wow, the ver 1.0, 2.0 and a mad dog media jersey. I am impressed hope you kick competitors butt to the curb.
