the best part was during the Flemish broadcast. when Cance went, the guy broke into English and said “we have a problem!”

Cance is so fast, when he makes Minute Rice he goes back in time.

He’s so fast he can turn off the lights and be in bed before the lights go out.

He’s so fast, he took a stab at the World Hour Record, and did it in 45 minutes.

Now Riis is crowing about how he told Fabian when to attack since he was watching on the TV. I thought all this crap was supposed to be done away with? TV’s, radio earpieces, etc. are changing (I would say ruining) the sport. What happened to the UCI saying radio stuff would be banned this season? Capirossi has not ruled out a return to Ducati before he hangs it up, saying he wants to ride a 1000 MOTOGP bike again. Regarding techno stuff, getting rid of the traction control, etc. on the MOTOGP bikes might make for more competition there though based on the first race of the year it doesn’t look bad with Hayden and Spies going well.

Barry, I think the rider who threw his hand out in disgust was making a visual complaint about Cancellara getting a draft off one of the motorcycles, not the fact that he was getting his ass dropped like a bad habit. I do like your take on it better though…

Steve O, that reminds me of my favorite clip from the race yesterday.

When Cancellara caught the break and dropped them, the one rider that threw his hands out in disgust was too funny. It reminded me of many times when I’ve been dropped.

I don’t think anyone lost this one. Cance just flat out won it. Didn’t even get out of the saddle to make his move. Now you see him, now you don’t. Not sure what’s in the tactical hand-book when someone turns the dial up to 11.

Larry, we got the MotoGP race here on SpeedTV – the usual truncated, almost an hour, gab-fest. Pity about Stoner going down as his Ducati seems to have mountains of HP this year and it looked like he could hold off Vale at will. We’re making some bits for the Suzuki team this year and I was hoping they’d show a bit better, but to no avail. I think Capirossi is just a bit past his sell-by date and that ain’t helping matters…

Boonen tried a few moves earlier, all were thwarted and not just by Fabian. But when Fabian went, nobody seemed to care except Boonen. Granted, Boonen was far back and didn’t see the move until Fabian had a good gap, but Boonen had zero team support it seems. Earlier in the race Saxo Bank riders were all over the race, keeping things in control for Fabian. QuickStep needs to get a TEAM if they want to have Boonen win, he can’t do it all alone. While a fantastic and deserved win for Fabian, it made the biggest classic of ‘em all pretty boring to watch unless you’re a rabid Fabian fan. At least MOTOGP was interesting on the ‘tube here in It’ly, don’t know if that gets shown over there in Tea Party-land.
